About Claire

Chemistry PhD. Healthcare copywriter.

I’ve always held a twin passion for writing and science. The challenge was finding out a way to combine them into a career! Thankfully I think I’ve sorted it. Broadly speaking, I search for the narratives within technical material.

I have a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Rutgers University. Before that I completed several research internships at large pharmaceutical companies, giving me an understanding of the small molecule & biologics development process.

My popular science writing has appeared in Chemistry World, Physics Today, Chemical and Engineering News, The Open Notebook and Undark magazine. I earned my AMWA Essential Skills certificate in 2018.

A strong double espresso is enough to make me happy. In my free time I enjoy reading (duh!) and martial arts.
